FEATURED BRAND 1: Diablo Jo

Diablo Jo 2

Diablo Jo Says:
“Diablo Jo’s is a UK brand, based in South Yorkshire. My unique creations range from Rockabilly inspired hair flowers, fascinators and flower crowns, to Sugar Skull and tattoo based illustration including cards and prints.  I love creating custom work whether it be a bridal fascinator or a sugar skull family portrait. I enjoy working closely with my customers and have built up a great reputation for excellent and down to earth customer service. My ultimate inspiration is Day of the Dead folk art and culture, I draw a lot of influences from the authentic design of Mexican iconography which is reflected in my illustration work. My passion for the Rockabilly scene and fashion has been a consistently strong part of Diablo Jo’s for the 8 years I have been designing, although the arrival of my son 2 and a half years ago means I don’t get to many gigs nowadays! My other loves in life include Kewpies, Horror films and the paranormal!”

Miss Fortune Says:
All my favourite hair flowers come from Diablo Jo, I have 5 in my collection!  I also have a hand painted ceramic money box that sits in my office.  The themes she picks are right up my street and I think she takes hair flowers to the next level, while keeping them really wearable too 🙂

FEATURED BRAND 2: Splendette

Splendette 1

Splendette Say:
“Splendette is born from my love of all things mid century.  Coming from a background of fashion design and buying, I’m finally realising my dream of working on both an era and on products that I really and truly love.

My passion for mid century design and living is what inspired me to start up on my own, making all the beautiful things I can possibly think of, and there are a lot! I use vintage as inspiration for the jewellery designs and bring it up to date with modern day materials. I want to make stylish vintage inspired jewellery to compliment people’s lovely repro and treasured, true vintage outfits alike.

I’m absolutely overwhelmed by the support I’ve had from my lovely customers so far and I can’t wait to grow Splendette and create many more (hopefully) wonderful things.”

Miss Fortune Says:
I have a bit of a bangle obsession so I was really over excited when Splendette blasted on to the scene!  I bought a set the first day the website was up and running!  I think she really captures the feel of vintage Bakelite jewellery in her designs ❤

Luxulite 1
Luxulite Say:

“Hello! My name is Katy Crebbin and I’m a jewellery designer/maker based in the North East of England. I run a jewellery brand called Luxulite, and I specialise in making fabulously fun pieces, inspired by novelty designs from the 1940’s and 50’s. In my shop you will find sparkling confetti lucite style brooches and earrings, faux-bakelite novelty pieces and more fruit than Carmen Miranda could shake her maracas at! I love underwater and tropical themes too, so you will often find lobsters, seahorses and Hawaiian themed items for sale in my shop – a perfect accompaniment to your Miss Fortune frocks and cardis.

Miss Fortune Says:
Kate’s quirky style really appeals to me, I’m always excited when I see new items coming up in her shop but you’ve gotta grab them before they sell, I can’t tell you how many things I’ve missed out on! Her fantastic brooches have inspired me to make some plainer jumper for next season that would love lovely with a vintage inspired brooch!
